ATLDOT along with CouncilmemberJ.P. Matzikeit joined community members for a groundbreaking ceremony for theextension of the Chastain Park path along Wieuca Road. Widening the sidewalkalong Wieuca Road, to Path (Foundation) standards has been a shared goal of thecommunity, Chastain (Park) Conservancy, the city’s parks department and thePath Foundation.

In 2017 the Atlanta City Councilapproved $2.2 million in funding for the extension of the Chastain Park pathalong Wieuca Road. Funding for the project comes from Renew Atlanta bond funds,the city’s Chastain Park Amphitheater Trust Fund, the Chastain Park Conservancy,and the Path Foundation. The project’ estimated cost is a total of $2.5million.
