The Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT) has temporarily closed a portion of the two-way cycle track along Peachtree Center Avenue NE to accommodate street resurfacing activities and bike infrastructure upgrades.
To ensure the safety of bicyclists, the Peachtree Center Avenue two-way cycle track will be closed temporarily during daytime work hours. Temporary bike lanes will be delineated down the west side of Peachtree Center Avenue during non-work hours as before.
Bike riders are encouraged to use alternate routes during construction:
• Peachtree Street – two-way (north/south) shared road condition
• Auburn Avenue – one-way eastbound shared road condition
• Portman Boulevard – two-way (east/west) dedicated condition
• Edgewood Avenue – one-way westbound dedicated condition
ATLDOT estimates resurfacing activities will be completed before July 4th, with permanent striping and upgraded infrastructure installed along the cycle-track in late July.
Planned improvements include new bike bollards, fresh thermoplastic striping inside the lanes, bolt-in concrete curbing for added protection, and colorized green pavement markings in the designated bike areas.
