Forsyth Street Bike Lane Ribbon Cutting

WHAT:
The Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT) and the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID) are pleased to host the Forsyth Street Bicycle Enhancement ribbon cutting ceremony. These newly dedicated lanes provide direct connectivity to bicycle/LIT facilities along Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive SW and Trinity Avenue SW, in addition to the Cycle Atlanta project on Whitehall Street SW.

Immediately following the program, the ribbon cutting will take place at the intersection of Mitchell Street SW and Forsyth Street SW.

DETAILS:
The Forsyth Street Enhancement project leverages ATLDOT’s annual repaving program to deliver critical safety and mobility enhancements along the corridor. In addition, this project supports the Atlanta Vision Zero Action Plan goals to eliminate fatal and serious crashes on city streets by 2040.

The corridor now includes a mile of resurfaced roadway along Forsyth Street NW between Carnegie Way NW and Memorial Drive SW, as well as upgraded ADA ramps, and protected bicycle/Light Individual Transportation (LIT) lanes within the south downtown area.
