Martin Luther King, Jr Drive SW from Ted Turner Drive NW to Centennial Olympic Park Drive
The Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT) will temporarily close a portion of Martin Luther King, Jr Drive SW from Ted Turner Drive NW to Centennial Olympic Park Drive to accommodate crane dismantling activities.
Martin Luther King, Jr Drive SW from Ted Turner Drive NW to Centennial Olympic Park Drive
This 24-hour road closure will take place beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
The following detours will be in effect to accommodate the closure:
Traveling westbound on Martin Luther King, Jr Dr SW:
Travel straight on Martin Luther King, Jr Dr SW
Turn right onto Ted Turner Dr NW
Turn left onto Marietta St NW
Turn left onto Centennial Olympic Park Dr back onto Martin Luther King, Jr Dr SW
Traveling westbound on Martin Luther King, Jr Dr SW (Alternate Route):
Travel straight on Martin Luther King, Jr Dr SW
Turn left on Richard B. Russell Pkwy
Turn right on Mitchell St SW to Martin Luther King, Jr Dr SW
Turn left onto Centennial Olympic Park Dr to Martin Luther King, Jr Dr SW
Traveling eastbound ON Martin Luther King, Jr Dr SW:
Travel straight on Martin Luther King, Jr Dr SW merging onto Mitchell St SW
Travel straight onto Mitchell St SW
Turn left onto Ted Turner Dr NW to Martin Luther King, Jr Dr SW
Traveling westbound on Martin Luther King, Jr Dr SW (Alternate Route from Hotels):
Travel straight on Martin Luther King, Jr Dr SW then turn right onto Centennial Olympic Park Dr
Turn left onto Chapel St SW
Turn left onto Elliott St SW
Turn right onto Mitchell St SW
Turn left onto Ted Turner Dr NW to Martin Luther King, Jr NW
Sidewalks along Martin Luther King, Jr Dr SW will remain closed until crane removal work is completed.
