Applying for a oversize / weight vehicle permit
This permit is required for all vehicles and/or loads which exceed a gross weight of 73,280 pounds and an overall width of 8 feet, an overall length of 55 feet, and or an overall height of 13.5 feet moving in the City of Atlanta’s right-of-way, EXCLUSIVE of those public streets which are also part of the State of Federal Highway System. All overweight loads (gross axel weight or wheel weight), must also have the approval of the City of Atlanta’s Department of Transportation.
