ATLDOT Launches Citywide Comprehensive Transportation Plan to Shape Atlanta’s Future
Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT)
The Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT) is launching the City’s first comprehensive, citywide transportation planning effort since the department was established in 2020.
ATLDOT will host the first of 12 community open houses for the Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP). The CTP will build upon the recently adopted Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP), Plan A, and establish a transportation framework for Atlanta through 2040. The plan will help identify the transportation projects, policies, and investments needed to improve safety, mobility, connectivity, and transportation options across the city.
During the Tuesday, September 29, CTP open house, Atlantans will have an opportunity to learn more and share their ideas about the future of the city’s transportation network. The 12 open houses–one in each City Council District—are part of this fall’s community outreach phase of the CTP engagement process. In the second and third phases, ATLDOT will apply the framework in Winter/Spring 2027 and finalize projects and implementation strategies in Summer/Fall 2027.
