Chappell Street NW between Bernard Street NW and Ezra Church Drive NW
The Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT) will intermittently close a portion of Chappell Street NW. This portion will be located between Bernard Street NW and Ezra Church Drive NW, to accommodate rail repair activities.
During construction, both lanes will be temporarily closed to provide a safe commute for all drivers. Rail repairs are being conducted by CSX near the address of 39 Chappell Street NW, Atlanta. Both sidewalks will be closed for the safety of the public.
The following detours will be in effect to accommodate the closure:
Traveling Northbound
Turn right on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive NW to Burbank Drive NW
Then turn left on Burbank Drive NW to Joseph E. Boone Boulevard. NW.
Turn left on Joseph E. Boone Boulevard. NW to reconnect to Chappell Street NW.
Traveling Southbound
Turn left on Joseph E. Boone Boulevard NW to Burbank Drive NW.
Then turn right on Burbank Drive NW to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive NW.
Turn right on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive NW to reconnect to Chappell Street NW.
This closure will begin on October 30, 2024 at 7:00 a.m. This road will remain closed until project is completed. All those commuting on Chappell Street should consider alternate routes or follow detour shown.
