Ms. Smoot-Madison has been a key member of ATLDOT's senior management team, leading transportation and mobility planning for the City of Atlanta. She has successfully managed various initiatives during her tenure, including design review processes, Vision Zero programming, freight access and management, Safe Routes to School, scooter and bike-share programs, curbside management, speed management, tactical urbanism, and more.
Prior to working for the City of Atlanta, she worked for the Baltimore City Department of Transportation, managing various transportation projects.
Ms. Smoot-Madison earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Connecticut State University and Master of Science degree in City and Regional Planning from Morgan State University. She also holds the following professional affiliations: American Planning Association, National Forum for Black Public Administrators, Women in Transportation Seminar, Leadership NACTO Fellow, and COMTO.
