The Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT) will impose a July 4th holiday
weekend moratorium on lane, road, and sidewalk closures to provide the public with
access to all roads within the City of Atlanta for travel and excursions free of
construction.
Conditions of the moratorium include:
The moratorium will be in effect from 6:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, until
6:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026.
At a minimum, no lane, road, or sidewalk closure for construction will be
allowed on any City of Atlanta side street, local street, collectors and/or
arterials,sidewalks, and easements.
Consultation and approval from ATLDOT will be required prior to allowing lane
closures on designated FIFA World Cup downtown corridors.
