Frequently Asked Questions

Visitors and residents should expect increased traffic, temporary road closures, lane reductions, pedestrian detours, and changes to parking and rideshare operations around Downtown Atlanta, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Centennial Olympic Park.

Yes, but parking will be extremely limited and in high demand during the tournament. Residents and visitors are strongly encouraged to use MARTA, walk, bike, or use micromobility services when possible.

Yes. Certain parking areas near Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the Georgia World Congress Center campus will be reserved exclusively for FIFA tournament operations and will not be available for public daily parking.

Rideshare operations will use geofenced areas east of Ted Turner Dr to help:

  • Reduce congestion near the stadium

  • E-scooters

These areas help reduce sidewalk clutter, improve pedestrian safety, and prevent improper parking.

Golf carts may only operate legally if they meet Georgia’s requirements for Personal Transportation Vehicles (PTVs) or Low-Speed Vehicles (LSVs). They:

  • Require proper equipment and registration
  • Cannot operate on sidewalks, trails, cycle tracks, or bike lanes

We recommend:

  • Using MARTA whenever possible

  • Expecting temporary delays from VIP movements, police escorts, and event operations
  • Checking live updates before traveling

No major long-term closures are currently anticipated in Midtown or Buckhead, though temporary hotel loading zones and event-related traffic impacts may occur.
